MRC Runners Second at Ragnar Relay

Foxboro, Mass., (June 26, 2010) — Manchester Running Company took second place at the 193-mile New England Ragnar Relay over Memorial Day weekend.  The race traveled the roads of southern New England from New Haven, Conn. to Foxboro, Mass.

Jumpers Steal the Show in Track Series Finale

MANCHESTER, Conn., (August 16, 2010) — Manchester Running Company concluded its second year of Thursday Nights Under the Lights on August 12th as Keron Stout and Preethi Vaidyanathan soared to meet records in the high jump as Stout cleared six feet eight inches (6′8″) and just missed a 6′10″ clearing while Vaidyanathan won the women’s division with a leap of just under 5′6″ for a new personal best and meet record.

Pride in Manchester Results

Full Results

MANCHESTER, June 11, 2010 — Jacob Gurzler won his third consecutive Manchester Running Company sponsored race while Ashley Reichelt won her second straight MRC Race at the first Pride in Manchester 5k held tonight in Manchester.

Ninety-nine official finishers crossed the line and Gurzler was first in 15:46 as three runners broke the 16-minute barrier.  Reichelt was the first female finisher in a time of 19:18.

MRC to Host Pride in Manchester 5k June 11th

MANCHESTER, Conn. – April 29, 2010 — Manchester Running Company is pleased to announce it will host the Pride in Manchester 5k on June 11, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. starting and finishing at Globe Hollow Recreation area on Spring St. in Manchester.  The race is a road 5k.

Finally Spring 5k! Raises Nearly $7,000 for Charities

MANCHESTER, Conn. (March 27, 2010) — The Second Annual Finally Spring 5k! to benefit Public Allies, and sponsored by Manchester Running Company, raised nearly $7,000 for charities as over 200 runners registered for the 5k trail race in Manchester on March 20.

Finally Spring 5k! Results

Manchester, Conn. (March 16) — The Second Annual Finally Spring 5k! to benefit Public Allies of Connecticut will take place this Saturday (March 20) at 10:00 a.m. at Howard/Porter Reservoir in Manchester. The forecast is calling for a beautiful 65 degrees with partly cloudy skies.

MRC Competes at Amherst 10-Miler

AMHERST, Mass. (March 3, 2010) — Manchester Running Company’s Elaina Mertens was the first “local” female and Drew Best was the eighth overall as four MRC Running Club members had a strong showing at the Jones Realty Group 10-Mile Road Race in Amherst over the weekend.

Mertens took home a $125 prize for being the first female finisher from the three neighboring counties around Amherst.  The Springfield resident was 233rd in the field of 691 runners.  Mertens ..read more

MRC To Host Shoe Drive with FS5K!

MANCHESTER, Conn. (Feb. 9, 2010) – Manchester Running Company has announced its plans to team with Soles4Souls to host a Shoe Drive in conjunction with the Second Annual Finally Spring 5k! on March 20, 2o1o at Highland Park School and Howard/Porter Reservoir in Manchester.  MRC has also pledged that it will donate 25 pairs of new shoes to the cause.

Remainder of Snowshoe Races Canceled

Feb. 3, 2010 — Manchester Running Company has announced the remainder of the MRC Snowshoe Series races (Feb. 7 and 14) have been canceled.  We do not anticipate enough snow for the race on Feb. 7th and have determined that the best action is to discontinue the series for the year at this point.  We greatly appreciate the support for the races this year and hopefully 2011 will give us more snow!

MRC Snowshoe Series Week 1 Results

Week 1 (Jan. 10, 2010) saw ten official finishers in the open 5k, approximately 15 brave men and women toed the line and after some course confusion a few requested their results not be posted out of fairness.  We promise for the next week the course will be marked more clearly with volunteers out on the course for guidance.

Jan. 9, 2010 (12:20 p.m.) — Following an inspection of the course this morning, Manchester Running Company has determined snow conditions will allow us to host the MRC Snowshoe Series on Sunday (Jan. 10) at 1:00 p.m.

The course is covered with just enough snow (about 4″) to allow for snowshoe use.  A reminder the pick-your-distance fun run will begin at 1:00 p.m. and Dion Snowshoes will be there for participants to try out some running snowshoes.  The 5k race will ..read more

Join us at the Manchester Road Race!

Manchester Running Company’s Running Club had several participants run extremely well in the 73rd Manchester Road Race.  Drew Best and Jake Gurzler took 23rd and 26th overall, respectively.  Marisa Clapp was the first Connecticut female across the line in a time of 27:34.

Best and Reichelt Win Ray Crothers Memorial Run

Ashley Reichelt and Drew Best each represented Manchester Running Company and took home first place finishes at the Ray Crothers Memorial 5k on October 25 at Wickham park in Manchester.

Reichelt out-distanced herself from the women’s field by nearly three minutes as she crossed the line in 19:34 over a very hilly 5k course.  Reichelt was in charge of the women’s field from the start, as the closest competitor finished in 22:27.

Spring Street Mile Results

Congratulations to our Open Men’s Winner Jake Gurzler who finished in a time of 4:22 and Yolanda Flamino, who took home the women’s crown in a time of 4:57.  The youth race was won by Wesley Keating as he crossed the line in 6:25.  We would like to thank everyone who came out and made the Spring Street Mile a success!
