Jan. – Feb. 2010

MRC Snowshoe Series
The Manchester Running Company Snowshoe Series takes place every Sunday afternoon from Jan. 3 – Feb. 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Vernon Center Middle School.  No experience is needed as we have plenty of “loaner” snowshoes to try from Dion Snowshoes; cost is $5.00 for the pick-your-distance fun run or $10.00 for the 5k race! Weather permitting.

Second Annual Finally Spring 5k!
One of MRC’s marquee events for the year, the Finally Spring 5k! is the perfect way to start your spring!  A 5k trail race in one of Manchester’s best kept secrets, Howard/Porter Reservoir offers great trails and a picturesque reservoir loop.  Proceeds from this event benefit Public Allies of CT.  Cost is $15.00 for pre-registrants and $20.00 on race day for runners.

Pride in Manchester Historic 5k
The Pride in Manchester Committee has asked Manchester Running Company to organize and host the first Pride in Manchester Historic 5k.  The event will be a 5k through Manchester’s Historic District during Pride in Manchester Week.  More details will follow as plans are solidified.

June – August, 2010

Thursday Nights Under the Lights
Thursday Nights Under the Lights (TNUL) offers athletes of all ages and abilities a great summer activity as well as some stellar local competition.  MRC hosts TNUL every Thursday Night for 6-8 weeks in the summer at 6:00 p.m. at Manchester High School.  We offer numerous events from the javelin to the 5,000-meters, high-jump and many events in between.  Dates for 2010 are in the works. Cost is minimal to encourage participation.

Labor Day, Sept. 6, 2010 – 10:00 a.m.

The Spring Street Mile
Join us on Labor Day for the fastest mile in Manchester!  A gentle downhill mile yields some very fast times but is gentle on the legs.  Cost is just $10.00 for youth and $15.00 for adults; we offer four different races to give you plenty of room to race – open men, open women, youth, and family fun-run.  Winning times in 2009 were 4:22 for the men and 4:57 for the women.
